Well Somehow Sara Beth made it into World Magazine. Somehow being a wonderful new friend named Steve West. He’s got a great blog, CHECK it out here: Blog and here is the article in World Magazine.

it’s been a bussssyyyyy summer! SB wanted to let you know about a couple of cool things:

She’s been traveling most of the summer doing camp sing-a-longs, concerting, playing with her friend Dave Hunt (www.davehunt.com), and buying a house (we’re crossing our fingers, toes and eyes hoping to make a studio out of the bonus room which means… RECORDING!!!). SB is learning how to look good whilst majorly sweating in Texas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Arizona, California, Tennessee, Louisiana, and North Carolina. And it has been good.

The new album, “Tired of Singing Sad Songs” is FINALLY done!!! It will be on iTunes in a couple of days/weeks… And by the end of THIS WEEK, you can order it directly from this website. It’s an exciting day…

What a great gift idea: a sweet singing songstress for Mother’s Day. SB loves mothers. She aspires to be a mother, one day. Her OWN mother is CONSTANTLY reminding SB that she’s aspiring to be a grandmother one day…

Tired of Singing Sad Songs is the official title of the new album. It is being duplicated RIGHT NOW. The Sara Beth team (being me), is really excited about the product, which is soon to be hot off the press. We will be trying to figure out how to set up a paypal account on the site for your easy purchasing enjoyment, and also iTunes will (hopefully) be carrying it soon as well!! This album has many functions: the case could be a beautiful coaster on your coffee table, a small frame-able picture to hang on your wall, a square frisbee, a necklace holder to bring along on trips, or a gorgeous addition to your other album cases on your dusty album case holder shelf. The CD might be a more functional frisbee (after you import it into your iTunes of course) and kind of looks like a muddy wheel. So your child could easily connect it to one of their toy trucks for a sweet looking wheel (with my name and the title of the cd on it). You guys are totally gunna want this thing. KEEP ON THE LOOKOUT!!!! A FEW MORE DAYS!!!!

i’ve been told I need to update more.

Hello friends and Ben Pettit (who has informed me I need to update this site more: you may be the ONLY one checking it out, so THANKS!).

The long-awaited CD is almost complete. We have one more day of mixing (with the fabulous David Henry, who also did all the strings on the album) and then we send it to get mastered (which I think basically means balancing out molecular somethings-or-others with a big computer and a fabulous sound system). A good friend, (and VERY patient roommie in college) Leah Tumerman, is doing the artwork for the album… check her beautiful work out www.leahtumerman.com

Other news: I spent last week in New Orleans with the family and some really good friends screaming at people elevated by beautiful artistic (and often crude titled) floats. Asking them to throw me a bead, or a cup, or a stuffed animal…even a banana! At one point during the day (when a parade wasn’t riding, of course) we walked through the graveyard because above ground graves are beautiful to out-of-towners, and I tried to be artistic and find quotes on graves that were inspiring for songs… alas to no avail.

Other news: why do women torture themselves with a silly thing like “waxing lips?” I did it today. On my own. It really hurt. I will not do it again.

Other news: can you believe John Locke? I mean it’s just nuts. If I could find a man as interesting as the show Lost, I’d be swooned and won over!

Well folks, it’s in the works. A new CD! Sara Beth is recording currently with Ben Shive. They set up studio in her apartment, using her grandma’s upright piano, some microphones, a few friends to sing, and a couple guitars, and the basic tracks are done. Be on the lookout for product sometime in the spring!

Well a big fat hello from SB! I’m sitting on my aunt’s porch in South Carolina at her beautiful new cabin on the lake, except there is a severe drought so it’s more of a meadow right now. I tried to walk across it and sunk knee high in the mud (and of course started imagining all sorts of irrational things: alligators camping out 3 feet beneath the mud, bee’s nests, and the scene in Princess Bride when she gets sucked under in the sinking sand, except I was alone so I was screaming: no handsome prince, just my sister). I bought a dulcimer and planned on writing while here, but we’ve been busy having fun and sleeping. I’m wrapping up a busy summer leading worship for camps from California to North Carolina, co-leading with my favorite worship leader Dave Hunt and with another awesome friend Wes Pickering, and some spot artist things. And now I’m rearing up for the fall.

The first event on the calendar (and currently the only one) is for my good friend Sarah Conley, who was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma last year at the age of 23. All donations will benefit the Sarah Conley Medical Trust Fund, designed to help alleviate some of the unexpected medical bills accrued during Sarah’s diagnosis, surgery and chemotherapy. PULL OUT YOUR POCKETBOOKS YALL!!! Let’s help this sister (who happens to be hilarious and one of my favorite humans) get out of deep ocean of cancer debts…

i promise!!! there is so much news yall gotta hear about. the biggest news is that i led worship for John McCain (which might not be so big to some of yall) at North Phoenix Baptist Church this past Sunday. i asked my drummer, Jonathan, if he was getting into the music and he said “yes, he was really into it” i said, “really?!” he said “no.” Oh well, I’m sure he was worshiping in his heart. More to come VERY soon!
